My parents took me here for a birthday dinner a couple weeks ago. My dad made a reservation ahead of time and specifically asked for outdoor seating. But when we arrived, they tried to seat us inside. Then, they had us wait for about 20min to have a table outside. It wasn't even busy. My dad was pretty annoyed, since he was trying to make the evening special for me. But once we were seated, the lovely sunset on the water helped us all relax. And our wonderful server brought us some great drinks and the most unique and tasty calamari I've ever had! Our entrees were ok, but I would definitely return for a cocktail and that calamari, at sunset on the patio! Pro tip: The ambiance inside the restaurant is pretty dark, best for an ugly date. The hot dates you request a patio table.

Ooooh Tantalum! The way I'd visit Nordstrom rack and NEVER saw this place tucked in the corner is beyond me. The entrance is so aesthetically pleasing, great for a photo op honestly. The ambiance and energy of the staff was wonderful and they checked in often. I decided to sit outside, as it was the end of June and the weather was beautiful. The only unfortunate thing was that there were these group of men who were talking so obnoxiously loud it was bothersome to everyone else dining outside. I ordered the Buddha rice! This rice was filled with flavor! The grains were cooked to perfection with a soft bite and the proteins in it all were flavorful. It was a healthy portion as well, I had to end up taking some home. The second entree ordered was the ulu watu noodle that had a flavor profile I wasn't really vibing with at first. The more bites I took the more my tongue became acclimated to the flavors. I personally wouldn't order it again, it felt pretty bland and needed a pazazz to it. The appetizer that was ordered were the chicken lollipops! These thangssss THESE LIK THANGSSSS oh my goodness. Best thing that was ordered! It was the pinnacle of greatness. This was some good tasting chicken!!! I would order like 4 orders of this the next time I go instead of an entree they're finger lickin gooooood!! For drinks, I had ordered a pear something alcoholic drink. All I know is that thang was STRONG. I felt sucker punched by the alcohol in it. I had to pour it in my water to dilute the flavor and actually be able to enjoy it. I was like gahhhhdamn I still wanna be able to walk after my meal ya know? (I rarely drink but I can handle one cocktail at meals but this thang felt like it wanted to take me down) Overall I'd give my experience like a 3.7 but I rounded to 4 stars on here. The alcohol was too strong and the noodles could use a lil something. Service was phenomenal and the view outside is worth it.

I'm not sure why I didn't give Tantulums 5 stars with my first review. I decided an update was definitely needed. Tantulums is the place my family picks when asked where they want to go to celebrate something special. We always have great service and fantastic meals here. The calamari is ordered every time we visit Tantulums. Thick strips of fresh Calamari, fried crispy, topped with cashews and served with aoli. Delicious. I recently had the salmon for lunch and this plate was so good. The salmon was perfectly pan seared with crispy skin. The presentation alone, beautiful. Tantulums is always consistent. We know we will always enjoy our meals here.

Cruised over in the boat and docked up while we had a few appetizers and a cocktail. Grabbed a nice table with a sofa in the area so we could hear the band and see the views. What a great location! Cocktails were delicious. I had the Harvest Moon, my friend had the blood orange margarita and hubby had the old fashioned. For appetizers we ordered the fried Brie, Kobe sliders and pulled pork sliders. They were all delicious and we couldn't pick a favorite. We will definitely return here to try other items.

The atmosphere of this place is wonderful and lively. The live music and everyone that works there is so nice. The food was amazing! I ordered the miso greens and added Salmon, it was so delicious; sadly i didn't finish it because I was stuffing my face with the Calamari beforehand! Which was so delicious! My Bf ordered the Miso Caramelized mahi mahi and of course I tasted it, it was also delicious. He devoured it. The dessert was so delicious, although i was full i couldn't stop eating it!

I CANNOT WAIT TO COME BACK. The interior was so cute, we cane at dinner so I'd like to see it in the day and possibly during brunch. We came during dinner and we were not able to call ahead to get on a waiting list, but dinner first two it was an easy wait to be seated. There is outside seating which I am sure is gorgeous at sunset as its in the water and you can see people pass on Duffy boats. These were some of the best brussel sprouts and calamari i have had. Also, the FRIED BRIE makes me cry it was so good. The night we went the short ribs were a special and it had a lovely amount of rice. As you can imagine, we had a fair amount of left overs. Again, can't wait to go back!

I always love coming here, great location, amazing food, and nice ambiance! Depending on the day they have live entertainment so it's a nice added touch. I like the food selection, it's Asian fusion. I normally go for the lighter fare. I like their chicken lettuce wraps. It's a healthy option for me so i usually order this. It has great flavors and the accompaniments are fresh. The location is prime, I like sitting outside by the water on a nice sunny day. It has amazing views. Servers are always friendly and welcoming. They are also very knowledgeable with the menu and offer their suggestions when asked. Highly recommend this place when you visit Long Beach.

This place stole our hearts, the view and food were impeccable. We ordered the Scottish Salmon, Miso caramelized mahi-mahi, Togarshi Seared albacore. And everything was absolutely delicious, the portion sizes for entrees were big enough for two and we will definitely be coming back soon

Been wanting to come here for a while, ever since my wife attended a gathering with her friends a while back and raved about the food and ambiance. All in all, a good experience. Located in the Marina Pacifica Shopping Mall, Tantalum Restaurant has a view overlooking the Marina. It promotes an Asian fusion mix of dishes. Looking at Yelp, we knew it had an happy hour, but couldn't find any info about it on their site. A 3rd party site mentioned that the hours were 2:30 - 6, so we stopped in around 3 on a Friday, but were told it started at 4 (running until 6). We came back at 4, and once we told the hostess that we had come for the HH, she told us to seat ourselves in the bar/lounge area (which is the only area that HH applies). We did just that, finding a place behind the bar, with comfortable low seating and a small space for dishes. There is also patio seating overlooking the marina...that would be the place to sit if eating in. It's not always clear how you are supposed to order when sitting in the bar area(e.g. place your order at the bar), but the waitress monitoring the area came pretty quick to let us know she would be taking care of us. Water was brought out, and by the time she came back, we knew what we wanted. Edamame ($5 HH, normally $10) - a huge plate of spiced soybeans. Because the flavoring was on the outside, I ended up using my mouth instead of my fingers to remove the beans from the shell, and took in quite a bit of the spices. It was really good, not very hot at all, and plenty to share among a group of 4. Kobe Sliders ($12 HH, normally $19) - 3 burgers, using a really good sesame seed bun. These are the best sliders I've ever had, with the medium prepared ground beef being juicy and just so delectable. It was dressed like a Backyard BBQ, with cheddar, lettuce, tomato, pickles, and a good smoked ketchup,,,all prepared with TLC. And I loved how the bun was completely covered in sesame seeds, reminding me of a sesame ball you get at Chinese restaurants. Each one is 2 - 3 bites worth....sliders being served at restaurants/bars have become ubiquitous, but this version is what it is supposed to be. Just superb (though a bit expensive). Skinny Fries ($5 HH) - super skinny fries, served Belgian style in a paper cone with ketchup and 1000 island to dip. This could be served at any European brasserie with confidence...plenty to share, given piping hot. Very, very good. two pints of draft beer ($2 off HH so $5 a pint) - Franziskaner Hefe, Ogopogo Harmonia Mango Wheat. Both very easy to drink, went really well with our meal. Chicken Wraps ($16) - not part of the happy hour, but my wife loved it so much before, so had to get it for her. It comes in butter lettuce cups, which I loved since most places use a cheaper type of lettuce. This version used shredded dark meat chicken, and you can add crushed peanuts yourself. I much prefer a version using a lot of finely diced water chestnuts to give it that filling crunch...the peanuts didn't really do it for me, and didn't care for the shredded chicken consistency..but my wife really enjoyed it. One thing I really loved was that even though it was Happy Hour prices, the portions and preparation were the same as if you ordered from the normal menu...this isn't always the case everywhere.
